Admist Wold Cup hoopla, Philadelphia opened its brand new soccer park earlier today with a 3-1 win over the Seattle Sounders. The sellout crowd of 18,500 packed the stadium on one of the year’s hottest days.
Agressive promotion over the past four years has finally made the World Cup a small blip on Americans’ radar. The disheartening loss to Ghana on Saturday means I will no longer be watching the World Cup, but I may go check out the Union.
