With the Soul’s 71-64 victory over Dallas, Philadelphia gained control of the race for the Eastern Division and National Conference titles, with two games remaining. Chris “Money” Jackson came up huge once again by tying a franchise record with six touchdowns. By sweeping the season series with the Desperados, the home team gains a tiebreaker advantage should both squads finish with identical records. The division winner gets home-field advantage on the road to ArenaBowl XXII taking place in New Orleans.
The only downside is quarterback Tony Graziani, who finally returned from injury, left the Dallas game late in first half with a concussion and did not return.
Next up for the Soul is a June 14 home contest against Cleveland (8-6), who hold a 4-0 record all-time over Philadelphia. It includes a 67-55 victory from earlier this season. The squad closes out the regular season June 22 at New York.
