Phillies fans are being encouraged to “Vote for Pat,” who has been selected one of five finalists for the Monster 2008 All-Star Final Vote in conjunction with the 2008 Major League All-Star Game. An unlimited number of votes can be made through 5 p.m. on July 10.
Burrell’s 21 home runs rank second among National League outfielders, and he ranks among the league leaders in home runs, slugging percentage, extra-base hits and on-base percentage.
Corey Hart of the Milwaukee Brewers, Carlos Lee of the Houston Astros, Aaron Rowand of the San Francisco Giants and David Wright of the New York Mets are also contending for the final spot on the National League’s 32-man roster. Chase Utley and Brad Lidge are currently representing the Phils in next week’s All-Star Game.
WIP is teaming up with the Phillies to engage passionate Burrell fans in a marathon voting session, Beginning at noon on July 8, four pre-selected fans will convene at Harry the K’s at Citizens Bank Park to out-vote one another. The fan that stays awake the longest and votes the strongest will receive an autographed jersey personally from Pat and will enjoy a future Phillies game, along with 15 friends, in Pat’s suite.
