The Spectrum has been home of the Philadelphia Kixx for 12 seasons, which was highlighted by Major Indoor Soccer League championships in 2002 and 2007 seasons. Following the 2008-09 season, the banners and all the memories will come crumbling down. The question is where does that leave the indoor soccer organization.
“Following our farewell season at the Spectrum, we will be playing the 2009-10 season in a new home that we fully expect to bring the same level of excitement and success we’ve enjoyed at the Spectrum.” Jeffrey Rotwitt, Philadelphia Kixx President said. “The announcement of the new venue will be made by Labor Day.”
The first order of business is finalizing the newly founded indoor league, which will replace the MISL.
“We are in the midst of of advanced discussions and will make an announcement in the coming month that will continue professional indoor soccer in Philadelphia,” Rotwitt said.
