Phillies trade for Blanton

The Philadelphia Phillies acquired right-handed Joe Blanton from Oakland in exchange for three Minor League prospects. For the A’s this season, Baton is 5-12 with a 4.96 ERA, but holds a 3.87 in 17 of his 20 starts. Blanton is also tied for sixth in the American League in innings pitched (127), lasting at least six innings in 16 of his starts.
The A’s received left-handed pitcher Josh Outman, second baseman Adrian Cardenas and outfielder Matt Spencer.
