Less than a week after celebrating their ArenaBowl XXii championship with a pep rally at City Hall, the Philadelphia Soul announced the re-signing of defensive backs Mike Brown and Rob Keefe as well as defensive lineman Gabe Nyenhuis and wide receiver Kenny Henderson.
Brown, coming off his fifth AFL season, was one of the team’s key contributors this year with 41.5 total tackles, five interceptions and three kickoff returns for touchdowns. He was also the AFL recipient of the league’s Al Lucas Hero Award, given annually to the player for his tireless work in the community.
Nyenhuis, a Second Team All-Arena selection, led the league with 12.5 tackles for a loss. He led the Soul with 9.5 sacks and 19 solo tackles.
Keefe, a rookie, tallied 41 tackles and 17 kickoff returns with an average of nearly 20 yards per return.
Henderson, who sat out most of the year with a broken collarbone, caught 10 ball for 122 yards and three touchdowns in just two games.
