Before the Wachovia Spectrum closes its doors for good next spring, the Philadelphia 76ers will say farewell to their old home March 13 (7 p.m.) against the Chicago Bulls. The NBA squad called the arena home for 30 years before moving across the parking lot to the Wachovia Center. The old building will be coming down to make room for a retail/entertainment complex in the works from Comcast-Spectacor and the Baltimore based Cordish Company.
Other schedule highlights include Kobe Bryant and his Lakers (Dec. 3, 7 p.m.) and former Sixer Allen Iverson and his Denver Nuggets coming to town Feb. 18, 8 p.m. for a nationally televised contest. February 3, Philadelphia will see how much their off-season prize acquisition of Elton Brand pays off as they host the defending NBA champion Boston Celtics at 7 p.m.
