This is turning out to be a memorable summer for wide receiver Larry Brackins who earlier this week signed a contract with the NFL’s New York Jets. In 2005, he was a fifth round pick of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Brackins most recently helped the Philadelphia Soul defeat the San Jose SaberCats to win the Virgin Mobile ArenaBowl XXII title with a 59-56 victory. The receiver caught six passes for 70 yards and two touchdowns in the championship game, and caught 107 balls, 29 for touchdowns, during the regular season.
“A number of guys have received interest from NFL teams, which is part of having great players and winning a championship,” head coach Bret Munsey said. “I am happy to get him another shot at the NFL. We feel he’s come a long way in the past two years as a professional and we wish the best for him.”
