The final game, the final chance … or will it be? The Eagles may be mathematically eliminated before Sunday’s kick-off. If th Raiders fall to the Buccaneers during Sunday’s 1 p.m. game in Tampa Bay, the Eagles are out before the ball even reaches Lincoln Financial Field.
However, if the fates align, the Birds will have four quarters to defend themselves for this lackluster season. A few hours to give Philadelphia an epic NFC East-rivalry charged battle against their bitter rivals. If they somehow manage to overtake Dallas, it will likely soften the post-season blows that will inevitably be lobbed at McNabb and Reid.
How it came to this is still pretty pathetic. But to save face, and for the pure poetry of a last chance leave-everything-on-the-field game, it ain’t half bad.
