Latest news from the Eagles’ locker room is that L.J. Smith and Brian Dawkins are questionable for tomorrow’s game. Smith is nursing an ailing shoulder, while Dawkins has an illness that has kept him sidelined for the past two practices.
If you watched an Eagles’ game you know Dawkins being sidelined for the most important game of the Eagles 2009 season is really not an option. Who will tap each players helmet on the sidelines? Who will run up and down the sidelines in between plays yelling various things at whomever is within earshot? Or, like last week, taking it one step further and actually running on the field while the offense is lining up to get in that last inspirational word?
I’m not really worried that illness will keep Dawkins from playing tomorrow. I think he’d have to get hit by a bulldozer on the way to the stadium.
