Three new members joined the Big 5 Hall of Fame this past weekend. Penn’s Jerome Allen, La Salle’s Curt Fromal and St. Joe’s Susan Moran were 2009’s inductees.
Allen played for the Quaker’s for the first half of the 1990s, finishing his time in Philadelphia as Penn’s all-time leader in assists (504) and steal (166). He was a second-round draft pick in ’95 going to the Minnesota Timberwolves. After two NBA seasons, Allen still plays professionally in Italy.
Fromal was a leader at La Salle in the mid-60s, before being drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers.
Currently the assistant coach at her alma mater, Moran dominated during her time at St. Joseph’s leading the team in both scoring and rebounding over four consecutive seasons from ’98 to 2002.
