Piecing together next year’s team, the Eagles took a wide receiver in the first round of this year’s draft. Jeremy Maclin of the University of Missouri went 19th overall, coming off of just two seasons in college.
For the second pick, the Eagles still focused on the offensive side of the ball with LeSean McCoy selected. The running back selection sends some clear messages B. Westbrook’s time may be wearing thin.
Clearly overlooking defensive holes (did they forget about the departure of Dawkins?), the Eagles may have dug their own grave. But we won’t know until the newbies take the field.
