The Phils head up to NY to take on the Bronx Bobmers in their new stadium as inter-league play begins tonight.
Ah, yes, the new stadium. The billion dollar empty-seat monstrocity sitting in the borough. Despite the rows and rows of empty chairs that fill the screen during Yankee-game broadcasts, one section should see an increase in smiling faces. The right field outfield has seen more than 40 homers already knocked into its bleachers this season. That’s more than double the balls that landed in center and left combined.
Compared to last year, where 160 balls were blasted over the fences, the new Yankee stadium is on pace to see nearly 400 make it outside the park.
The Phillies left-handed line up is looking mighty nice right now.
