Eagles defensive guru Jim Johnson will continue his leave of absence, which began in mid-May. Johnson is currently battling cancer.
But football life moves steadily forward and the reigns are being officially passed to Johnson-understudy Sean McDermott.
The 35-year-old will be named as this year’s defensive coordinator 1 p.m. Saturday. The longest tenured diciple of Johnson, McDermott will have his work cut out for him with the new faces lining up on D for the Birds.
