The NFL has got some new OT rules up its sleeve.
The proposal, passed today at a Florida NFL annual meeting, states (for playoff games):
-If team winning the coin toss gets the ball and kicks a field goal, the other team gets the ball.
-If play is still tied after (1) play continues under sudden-death rules
-If the team winning the coin toss scores a touchdown, the game is over.
-A safety wins the game
Come May, discussions will take place to decide whether the new ‘modified sudden death’ rules will apply to regular-season play.
